Offered at $175000, 1 car garage on first floor & 1 car secured parking outside

I don’t like to declare favorites but The Lofts at 2020 are in my top five in STL. I was introduced to the development by one of my artistic friends who was enamored by the use of plywood sheets as “finished” flooring material It is in the hallways and some of the condos. I loved it then and I still love it.
In the Downtown West District, this 1154 square foot unit on the eighth floor of The Lofts at 2020 Washington is arguably one of the best unit in the building. It faces south and just look at the view. The condo is very “lofty” with high ceilings, large industrial windows, exposed brick walls. BIG BONUS: 1 car garage and 1 car assigned parking space

The condo itself is very FLEX. The public area is an open floor plan. The bedroom is private.

The open and flexible living area has a great view! The southern windows and the bar stool create a perfect spot to observe the bustling activity downtown and enjoy the ambiance of events at Union Station. Watching the crowds and the lights of Energizer Park adds a dynamic aspect to your space, making it not only a place to relax but also an engaging environment. If you’re looking to enhance this area further, consider adding some decorative elements like plants, cushions, or a small side table for refreshments.
There is a nook for an office area. It easily accommodates a nice size desk and has metal built in shelves for books and decorative keepsakes. The kitchen has newer stainless appliances. The large center island has built-in wine shelves and can seat four to six people. Ideal for “back seat” cooking advice.

The bathroom has been updated with a newer vanity and flooring. The bedroom is private. The washer/dryer is included and is located in a decent sized utility room with space for laundry detergent, vacuum sweepers and other storage needs.

The Lofts at 2020 Washington have 103 units. It is a secure building. The community is friendly. The roof top deck is an amenity that is accessible to all owners. It has a grill and a great 360 degree view. The view below shows the downtown skyline and the top of Union Station. The condo fee is only $277 per month.

Downtown West
Renovation of the Sporting News Building into 103 condos began in 2003. Originally named The Sporting News Lofts, they are now called The Lofts at 2020 Washington. the building was the headquarters for The Sporting News newspaper and before that, the Emerson Electric Company Building. The renovation of the building into lofts was a joint effort with Pyramid Construction and other investors.
The building location is the new “In” part of the downtown St Louis loft district. (Once a garment district 2nd only to New York.) It is the Downtown West loft district – far enough to be out of the late night noise. However it is very walkable to restaurants and downtown St Louis attractions and clubs. The Arch, Ball Park Village, restaurants and bookstores, movie theater, and a grocery store are also walkable with comfortable shoes.
Only a few blocks to the newly transformed Union Station which is definitely a great place for everyone in the family. In addition to a miniature golf course, a rope link and a carousel there is an aquarium and many places to eat.
Then, of course, there is the new Energizer Park with a capacity of 22,500. The stadium will host approximately 17-20 regular season games plus three exhibition games each year. The open-air venue may also be used for high school and college sporting events, tournaments, soccer camps, corporate gatherings, food festivals, parties and other social events. It’s almost complete, Hurrah! Here’s a view from the condo.

In June of 2016, St Louis was chosen as the site of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. The 99 acre site is located just north of 2020 Washington. The NGA has approximately 14,500 employees and approximately one-third of them will be in St Louis Mo. This facility is about 3 blocks north of 2020 Washington.
Coming soon to the northeast corner, Kenny Marks, talented bartender and the owner of Kenny’s Upstairs on South Grand, is opening a corner store and sandwich shop in St. Louis’ Downtown West neighborhood: Ozzy’s Market.
