Be a hero in your family with this unique kid space
Priced at $129900
It happened to my brother. All of a sudden he became a single parent living in a 2 parent neighborhood on a single parent budget. He needed the space, didn’t want a huge house and yet wanted the kids to feel really special about their own private space.
6718 Arthur Avenue could be a great home to be a hero to the kids. It has an attic that has been converted into cool space that would capture the heart of a 10 year old or a teenager. The dimensions are approximately 18×12. It is unique space. There are 2 skylights – one of them opens. The exposed brick walls on either end have shutters that can be open for ventilation or closed when needed. The electric is in with a lot of outlets for all the electronics that kids today use. There is an air conditioning unit. There is a possibility of adding a bathroom fairly easily. For maximum comfort it still needs additional insulation.
The current space has a rustic look.
Use it in the rustic style or let your child choose the style. Wouldn’t it be great to have an affordable project like this to engage your child – letting their creative side go wild and still stay on a budget. To insulate and add insulation to this room would be approximately$2500-$3000.
On a budget – paint the floor: (some of these ideas from –10 Bold Colored floors. What teenager doesn’t want to test their creative side. A bucket of porch & floor paint is approximately $30/gallon. If it ends up too wild looking, put a rug over part of it.
The rest of 6718 Arthur is just as cool. Click on this article for more pictures and detailed information about the neighborhood and schools.
Can you think of anything better than letting your grandchildren and children help you put this together. I know my brother would have loved space like this for his kids when he first became a single parent. Me, I’m a new grandma, and I would love to have something like to this to work on with my little granddaughter.
The neighborhood is walkable. It is located in Lindenwood Park which is just a couple of blocks away and for a more energetic walk Tilles Park is also nearby. There are a couple of restaurants in the neighborhood also. Now that’s a wow!!!
