321 Belt Avenue, Unit 502, St Louis MO 63112
321 Belt Avenue is a renovated 2 bedroom condominium in the Randolph Condominiums in the urban neighborhood of Skinker DeBaliviere. It is on the fifth floor of a mid-rise (yes, there is an elevator). From the front rooms of Unit 502 there is an unobstructed view of the Kingshighway skyline and a private gated neighborhood. From the kitchen window and the dining room, there is a spectacular view of the Clayton skyline. Light streams into every room in the condo. Clayton Skyline from kitchen window
There are 45 units in this six story mid-rise. The building has an elevator, an exercise room and storage rooms for each unit. Each unit has an assigned parking spot in the basement garage. Secured parking spaces are available in the parking lot for $35/month. There is also a community picnic area for grilling and outdoor lounging. The building is FHA approved. The condo fee is a very affordable $249/mo. Pool and tennis courts are available in the neighborhood for an annual membership fee of $125. I understand that a lot of socializing happens around the pools.
321 Belt Avenue Unit 502 has the advantage of being on the fifth floor allowing unobstructed light and good views. The elevator is certainly a wonderful attribute of this building. The Randolph building was built in 1928, the gracious era following the STL World Fair and prior to the depression and WWII. It was a time of well appointed apartment buildings with marble stairs and ornate wrought iron railings. Unit 502 has a gracious entry foyer and very spacious and open living room with lots of light from the tall windows. The building is a designated historic building on the Missouri Registry. The dining room is also spacious and has the original french doors (if you look closely you will notice the original wavy glass). The kitchen has been updated.
321 Belt is considered somewhat walkable by walkscore.com but the owners of this condo would probably disagree. They loved to walk their baby in the neighborhood. It is an easy walk to our wonderful Forest Park which is really only 3 blocks from the property. There is a metro station about 3 blocks distant also. There are several restaurants in the area, the most recent popular restaurant being The Kitchen Sink. The nearest grocery store, Straub’s, is not really walkable but is very nearby. The STL Public School is Ford-Ford Br Elementary School. It serves 318 students in PK-6th. There are many private schools in the neighborhood. Three of the most popular are New City School, Crossroads College Preparatory and St Roch School. For a list of other schools in the area – GreatSchools.org. The St Louis Public schools also have Magnet School options and Charter School options.
So what an opportunity: an affordable condo with old world charm and new world convenience in a vibrant and urban neighborhood that always seems exciting.
