6718 Arthur Avenue St Louis MO 63139
NEW NEW PRICE of $129,900
One of the things the current owner is going to miss the most, she tells me, is her neighbors. When you walk into the backyard of 6718 Arthur Avenue, you will notice a white plastic chair hanging over the chain link fence on the east side of her driveway. That is the chair she pulls down to sit and visit with her neighbor. This kind of neighborliness runs rampant in the Lindenwood Park area.
Tiny houses are big with owners seeking financial freedom. 6718 Arthur Place is a cottage style home that makes the most out of small square footage. The current owner finished the attic space since she’s been there. She did a rustic finish because it fits her style but for very little investment the area could be made more traditional. She installed the electric, the studs for drywalling, the skylights (one opens) and a small portable air conditioner that is vented through the roof. This “new space” is very very charming and adds just that extra room that a one-bedroom house needs.
The first floor of this home has refinished hardwood floors and newer windows. It has retained the charm of a 90 year old home with the comforts of contemporary living. There are original stained glass windows in the bedroom and living room. The current owner uses the basement for a little family room and has a guest bedroom set up here. The walls and floors are freshly painted.
The yard is another gem in this home. It has 2 patios that are perfect for entertaining. The patio at the back fence seems like a great spot to have a one-on-one tete-a-tete with a special friend while the patio just off the back door is a great outdoor dining area. The yard is level, there is a potting shed and a garage and many lovely plantings. The 2 trees in the backyard are among my favorites – a catalpha tree and a mimosa tree (throwbacks from my childhood). The butterfly bush at the side of the patio actually draws butterflies.

The actual park is located between Jamieson and Prather on the east and west and Pernod and Lindenwood to the north and south.
